Jobrapido

The publisher of the Daily Mail and Metro has announced it is buying an international job search engine, Jobrapido, for up to €30 million.

A&N Media, the consumer media division of Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), said the acquisition would give it access to one of the world's largest databases of jobseekers and "a global footprint with strong positions in a number of key international markets".

The site, which was founded in Italy in 2006, claims to be the second largest international job search engine in the world, with 32 million unique visitors last month.

It made €24 million in revenue last year and €6 million in profit, DMGT said in today's announcement. The site will be merged with the group's existing digital recruitment sites.

DMGT chief executive Martin Morgan said in a release: "Bringing the Jobrapido team into the DMGT group is a great example of DMGT's core strategy in action.

"We seek out and acquire market leading businesses with strong positions in rapidly growing international markets.

A&N Media is the division of DMGT that publishes the Mail titles, Metro and regional newspapers around the UK.
