The Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail has appointed Ewan Watt to the newly created role of digital editorial director.

Watt will be responsible for the development of editorial content across all online platforms for the Daily Record and Sunday Mail .

He will also oversee the editorial content of Trinity Mirror's Scottish business website Business7 .

Watt, who is currently assistant editor of the Daily Record, will work on plans to integrate the editorial operations of the titles.

He will take up his role in the next few weeks, a spokesman for Trinity Mirror confirmed.
