The new Sunday Times online team, assembled over the past few months, has been confirmed by the paper.

Tristan Davies, executive editor of the Sunday Times, is to oversee its new online standalone operation.

The Sunday Times, which began recruiting for its new website in 2009 - with a reported 1,200 applications received for the position of news reporter - confirmed its new editorial staff list to Journalism.co.uk this week.

Davies' deputy will be Gordon Thomson, who stepped down as editor of Time Out London in March 2009.

Serena Kutchinsky and Holden Frith have been named online assistant editors. Kutchinsky was formerly online producer for thelondonpaper.
For Frith it's a move back to Wapping: he was Times Online technology editor before spending a year as editor of Wired.co.uk.

Other appointments include: Richard Gray, online style editor; Jonathan Dean, online culture editor; Steve Keenan, online travel editor; Ben Williamson, online picture editor; Tom Houghton, online deputy picture editor; Seth Jacobson, online newsroom editor; Jill Turner, assistant editor for online news and comment; Ariadne Zanella, multimedia editor; Mark Kelly, deputy multimedia editor; and Louis Wise, online culture planner.
