The Joint Industry Committee for Regional Press Research (JICREG) is recruiting a new chief executive following the announcement that Roger Holland will step down from his post next year.

Holland has been part of the committee, which provides readership data for many of the UK's regional and local newspapers, since its formation 20 years ago.

"Roger has been synonymous with JICREG throughout its entire existence," Howard Scott, chairman of JICREG said in a statement on the Newspaper Society website.

"His commitment and vision have been crucial factors in it establishing itself as one of the most respected and trusted media audience organisations in the UK. The process of appointing a new chief executive to continue the development of JICREG is now underway."
