Our 17th digital journalism conference is just around the corner and with less than two months to go until the event on 20 July, we are delighted to announce Kristen Taylor will kick off the day with a keynote speech at newsrewired.

An audience development specialist and digital storyteller for global media and technology companies, most recently Kristen was the community editor for Serial (Season 2), the acclaimed podcast produced by WBEZ and This American Life.

During her time with Serial, Kristen managed Serial’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine and Snapchat, monitoring conversations and interacting with the podcast’s fans as its second season progressed.

Previously, Kristen worked for Al Jazeera, BBC, Global Voices, Knight Foundation, PopTech and Doctor Who, and she is also the founder and editor of Saucy Magazine, a publication which explores people’s “fallible relationships with food and each other”.

At newsrewired, Kristen will deliver the morning keynote, talking about the value of community management in the broader context of her career and the publishing industry. She will also join the morning panel ‘The new wave in podcasting’, alongside Jason Phipps, head of audio at the Guardian, and Maeve McClenaghan, freelance investigative journalist and producer, discussing what makes podcasts engaging, what resources are needed to produce them and how this medium can be monetised.

Tickets for the conference on 20 July cost just £165+VAT. You can also purchase a two day ticket, which gives you access to the conference on 20 July and a full day of training on 21 July.
