There used to be something here that couldn't be migrated - please contact us at info@journalism.co.uk if you'd like to see this updated! NYTimes.com has opened its My Times personalisation function to all site users after completing a limited beta test.
The function, which remains in beta despite the expansion, was first launched as a private test in April 2006, to coincide with the redesign of NYTimes.com.
The newly opened version has a limited range, allowing readers to just organise RSS sources recommended by the Times and add their own favoured feeds. Users can also add widgets - supplied by the Times and a few other providers, such as Flickr, to their pages, or create multiple pages to divvy up their preferred content.
The ability for a user to pull content in from other sites is an improvement on personalisation on other leading newspaper sites, many of which only allow users access to a limited number of sources pre-selected by them.
"Readers can pull content from their suggested list of feeds - or from anywhere on the web," said Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manger of NYTimes.com.
"This is just the first of the personalisation features we plan to unveil in the near future."
