Those in the running for the student website of the year award are the University of Westminster, University of Cambridge, University of East Anglia, Lancaster University and the University of Southampton.
Winners will be announced in the Media Guardian on 15 November. Prizes include cash, free Easyjet flights and work experience at the Guardian and Sky News.
Cardiff University's Blunt magazine won the 2003 award for student website of the year.
