Trinity Mirror has named Mark Hollinshead as the new managing director of its nationals division, as part of a managerial shake up at the group.

Hollinshead's newly created role will combine responsibilities for all print and online products associated with the publisher's five national newspaper titles.

The reorganisation will see his previous position as managing director of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail merge with the post of managing director, UK nationals, currently held by Richard Webb.

Webb is set to leave the organisation following Hollinshead's appointment and further changes within the group's managerial structure are to be announced, a press release from Trinity Mirror said.

"The new role will enable our national newspapers to fully embrace the changing media landscape. Bringing together the power of these great brands is in the best interest of our business and our customers," said Sly Bailey, chief executive of Trinity Mirror, in the release.
