NBC News and msnbc.com have entered a collaboration with MySpace to supply the social network with political coverage of the US presidential election campaigns.
The Decision08 site , which is part of MySpace's political channel Impact, features video clips from the news providers as well as a news feed of coverage from NBC News and NBC-owned citizen journalism site Newsvine .
The MySpace page, which currently has 54,581 friends, includes an interactive map with information on voter registration and results from the presidential primaries.
To encourage audience interaction users are asked to submit forum and video questions to candidates, while a link directs users to an online voting registration site .
The site links to the MySpace pages of the presidential candidates and NBC editorial team - video and blogging content from which will be aggregated on Decision08.
Brian Williams, managing editor and anchor of NBC Nightly News, explains the thinking behind the project in the video below: Brian Williams welcomes you to Decision 08 There used to be something here that couldn't be migrated - please contact us at info@journalism.co.uk if you'd like to see this updated!
