IPC Media has appointed Beverley Watts as the online editor of its celebrity news magazine Now .
Ms Watts, who has been assistant editor since its launch in 1996, will take overall responsibility for the editorial development of the site.
In her new role Ms Watts, who supervised Now's online re-launch last summer, will report directly to magazine editor Helen Johnston.
Ms Watts started her career with IPC at 18 as a trainee writer and sub-editor on Woman's Weekly before moving into teen magazines. In 1981 she left to work in television.
Following a range of roles in TV as both writer and publicist, she returned to IPC in 1995 as commissioning editor on new launch, Eva; she joined the fledgling Now magazine the following year.
