Dilys Price OBE will be one of the stars of the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards to be shown on ITV on Tuesday November 7 2017..

The 85-year-old, who has been a member of 4Networking for the last two years, actually received her award on Monday October 30 at a star-studded ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel, London.

Known in her home country of Wales as “Daredevil Dilys” she also currently holds the Guinness World Record as the Oldest Female Sky Diver. She made her first parachute jump at the age of 54 and has now completed over a thousand skydives, raising tens of thousands of pounds.

Dilys, 85, said, “I love 4Networking and what it’s done for me and my charitable work. I started speaking at 4N events because I’d broken my ankle two years ago, and could no longer skydive. I was stuck at home and felt isolated. Being part of the 4N tribe helped me get my confidence back. It’s an incredibly generous and giving group.”

4Networking (4N) supports thousands of business owners across the UK at over 5,000 events a year and has 250 active groups in England, Wales and Scotland. It was established 11 years ago and all members can visit any group at any time. Many members raise money for charities close to their hearts.

Dilys is a celebrity in the 4Networking community speaking regularly at groups nationwide. She is the founder and retired director of the Touch Trust Charity which she founded from her kitchen in 1996. The charity provides creative movement and sensory programmes for children and adults with learning disabilities. Today it is housed in the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

On winning the award Dilys said: “I only found out two days beforehand. Even though I’d been filmed at home and at the Touch Trust centre over two days I’d been hoodwinked! I was initially told it was for a documentary for next year!

“I am so thrilled to have been given the special recognition award for The Pride Of Britain. The event was wonderful. It meant so much to me to be amongst such brave individuals being honoured for their courage and bravery.”

Pride of Britain, which have been running for 18 years, recognises ordinary people for their extraordinary achievements.

Jason Dutton, managing director of 4N, said: “4Networking members have always embraced our culture of trust and belonging and none more so than Dilys. Her drive, spirit and enthusiasm for life is extremely contagious and she is absolutely loved throughout the network. The entire 4Networking membership has always been proud of Dilys and her achievements and we are absolutely thrilled she has received this recognition for her outstanding charitable contributions.”

4Networking is the UK’s No 1 joined up national business network providing sales leads, support, contacts and trusted suppliers for business owners around the UK.
