Allergy-free food company Creative Nature has welcomed its new business development manager Josh Hartley.

Josh, who is 23, lives in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, graduated from the University of Manchester in 2018 with a degree in linguistics and English language and previously worked as an account manager for a frozen seafood manufacturer, specialising in food service and wholesale customers, and new business development opportunities.

When Covid-19 hit, he decided it was time for a change.

"The role at Creative Nature stood out to me because I could see so much potential in the brand. Everything was being done right. Vegan and 'free from' are markets in fantastic growth, and sustainable sourcing, packaging and manufacture are moves all companies are trying to make.

"Creative Nature is ahead of the curve with national and international trends, and when I found out it was looking to expand its team to grow in new categories, categories that I specialise in, I just had to be involved!"

But it is not just the company's potential for growth that appealed to Josh, the products and values resonated closer to home: "What originally caught my eye about Creative Nature was the free-from aspect. My girlfriend can't eat gluten, and as a household that loves food it's very apparent to us how limited the options have been in the past for free-from foods. When I saw that Creative Nature was taking 'free from' to the next level, not just catering for people like my girlfriend, but ticking all the Top 14 allergen boxes, whilst still producing amazing flavour profiles, I had to get involved!"

Julianne Ponan, CEO of Creative Nature, said: "We're delighted to have Josh here as part of our growing team. He will help us to achieve our aims of growth both within the UK and overseas. Josh will bring experience in food service and wholesale sectors which is perfect for when things start to open up."

Josh will be based in his beloved North Yorkshire, but despite working in a different part of the country from the company's Surrey base, he is already settling into the team.

"After only a few weeks with Creative Nature I feel completely at home already. Julianne and her team have all been so friendly and welcoming, even though I'm 250 miles away they haven't let it get in the way of any team activities. We've already had some Friday fun with Daisy's bingo and our burger challenge. I'm looking forward to when I can come down to Surrey and meet everyone in person," Josh said.

Outside of work, Josh is a keen mountain biker, and enjoys motorbikes, cars and football. He loves to travel and is looking forward to visiting new destinations with his girlfriend when global travel opens up again.

Creative Nature Superfoods provides 'free-from' bars, baking mixes, sweet treats and superfoods which are free from the top 14 allergens, vegan friendly and nutritious. The company has won numerous awards for both its products and the performance of its team. CEO Julianne Ponan has also been named as one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 to watch.
