Marketing expert and author Denise O'Leary has been named the winner of a GOLD Stevie® Award in the Best Business Book category in The 17th Annual International Business Awards® today.

She was also a Bronze Stevie® Award winner for her company Purpol Marketing within the category Company of the Year - Advertising Marketing and Public Relations - Small.

The International Business Awards are the world's premier business awards program. All individuals and organisations worldwide - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2020 IBAs received entries from organisations in 63 nations and territories.

As the ongoing covid-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet in the USA, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday 1 December.

More than 3,800 nominations from organisations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.  This year's competition also featured a number of free-to-enter categories to recognise organisations’ and individuals’ response to the covid-19 pandemic.

Denise O'Leary of Purpol Marketing has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Best Business Book category  for her book WINNER - How to WIN Business Awards and Bronze Stevie® Award recognition for the company she founded in 2014.

Denise said: "I am over the moon - to win the top award a Gold Stevie® within the most prestigious worldwide award - the International Business Awards® is a dream come true. The last few months have been a really tough time for many businesses, and I have had dark days like many others. This recognition makes me feel so honoured, knowing that my book is helping other brilliant companies get the recognition they deserve."

One of the judges said: "Such a great book idea! Top tips to winning awards from an award-winning bid writer! Couldn't get better! Accessible, warm and down-to-earth writing. Informs, guides and inspires confidence."

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from July through to early September.

"Despite the unprecedented impact the covid-19 pandemic has had on organisations and working people worldwide, the number and quality of nominations we received in this year's International Business Awards attests to the continued outstanding performance of many organisations. The commitment we've seen through these nominations to maintaining the success, health, and safety of employees, customers, and communities is truly impressive," said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher.

The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards and were nicknamed the Stevies from the Greek word for "crowned". Details about The International Business Awards and the lists of Stevie Award winners are available at www.StevieAwards.com/IBA.
