Well known incentive site, Freebetshere.com is donating £500 to members of the popular Cheltenham Festival Betting site, http://www.facebook.com/CheltenhamFestivalBetting to invest over the duration of the Cheltenham Festival, which runs 12th-14th March.
Members of the Facebook Group will be asked to tip up the horses they feel will bring a return, using the £500 Charity donation from Freebetshere.com
At the end of the Festival the returns will be calculated and donated to the Injured Jockey Fund.
The Facebook Group, which totals almost 20,000 Facebook ‘Likes’ is a hotbed for Cheltenham tips, with horse racing fans eager to give their well judged opinions on the horse racing, and with the 2013 Cheltenham Festival approaching, these tips could prove a gold mine for punters.
Spokesman for Freebetshere.com, Lewis James commented
"The Cheltenham Festival is the jewel in the Crown for horse racing punters as far as we’re concerned, and it’s sure to be four days of excitement & exhilaration for everyone concerned.
We think this is a novel way to put something back in to the sport – there are some very knowledgeable punters on our Facebook group who definitely know what they’re talking about! We’re confident they can pick out some winners and raise as much as we can for our charity, The Injured Jockey Fund."
The Injured Jockey Fund was founded in 1864 and has spent over £17m in helping and assisting over 1000 jockeys who have been forced to give up racing through injury.
The charity aims to provide immediate and effective help for injured jockeys & their families, ensuring they have a reasonable quality of life following their injury.
"We’ll be spreading the £500 Charity Bet out over the four days of the Festival, which should be a bit of fun for all of us, and hopefully come Friday afternoon there’ll be a healthy balance of winnings!
There are a few horses some people may see as ‘bankers’, such as Hurricane Fly in the the Champion Hurdle in the opening day or Sprinter Sacre in the Champion Chase on Tuesday, and of course it’s the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday.
This should be a fun way of raising some money for a very good cause."
