Bestselling crime writer Joy Ellis—one of the most-read authors of the decade—has just smashed through the staggering milestone of 1 billion pages read on Kindle Unlimited.

The record places her alongside the very top authors in the world, behind only to the likes of J.K. Rowling, and comes as she releases her brand-new thriller *Black Notice* on 16 September with Joffe Books.

It’s a dramatic turnaround for an author whose royalties were once paid in postage stamps by a previous publisher. Since then, Ellis has stormed the charts with 14 UK No. 1 Kindle bestsellers, becoming a global phenomenon with her gripping police procedurals set against the eerie, windswept Fens.
