EAW Consulting

Viewing the platform from a consulting perspective, Josh Cote believes a carefully curated LinkedIn presence can prove essential in attracting the right talent towards a business, and communicating company culture on their newsfeeds in a way that is revealing, without being overly intrusive.

Digital endeavours are no longer the ‘shiny front end’ of an organisation, instead they’re now integral aspects of companies. It is because of this that Josh Cote was concerned at the lack of visual stimulation the platform offers - with Facebook, Twitter (via Periscope) and Instagram already having video capabilities and live streaming functionality for some time.

A 2016 Cisco study found that online videos will account for more than 80 percent of all consumer internet traffic by 2020, and business consultant Josh Cote believes LinkedIn’s latest update demonstrates the platforms acknowledgement of the video movement.

“Visually stimulating content is often the most revealing, and in my opinion best-performing content there is,” states EAW Consulting owner Josh Cote. “LinkedIn’s effort to catch up to other social networks is appreciated, as it provides further opportunities for those who are willing to put in the effort to make their business stand out in competitive markets.”

The business consultant believes, outside of a face to face interaction, nothing can provide such great insight into the ‘know’, ‘like’, ‘trust’ factors about a brand like an online video can. Using social media to provide an insight into the company’s lifestyle has now become a key part of a company’s marketing strategy, and Mr. Cote believes that skilled individuals are now scanning for evidence of company culture on such channels in addition to the list of their vacant roles and positions.

Josh Cote has spent the last 9 years identifying underlying problems in businesses, helping them achieve optimum levels of efficiency, and being a catalyst for positive change. He believes that some of the common recruitment problems companies deal with on a daily basis could be solved if they paid closer attention to what their first impression looks like online to prospective employees.
