MarketMakers, a leading south coast telemarketing agency, scooped the top spot at the Learning and Performance Institute’s 2013 award ceremony, winning the prestigious and hard fought for "Staff Development Programme Of The Year" award.

Other contenders in this award category included McDonalds, Centrica and Accenture while companies who have won this award in previous years have included Barclaycard and British Gas.

MarketMakers’ ‘Business School’ won the award for their continuous focus on empowerment and development for staff. The school is an in house programme that offers tailored, continuous training and encourages growth among all of the business’ staff, making them feel part of a cohesive team. This is reflected in staff retention, currently standing at an impressive 89%. The school’s ethos is built around personal growth, fulfillment, leadership training and staff motivation.

The awards were created to celebrate development and learning in the workplace in the UK and this year’s ceremony was held at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

The MarketMakers Business School is not simply designed to make their telemarketers more effective, instead it offers an opportunity for all strata of staff, from operators to senior managers, to improve and grow their skills. The school provides its staff with power sessions and interactive programmes in which participants are able to develop anything from sales techniques to leadership.

Collecting the award on behalf of Market Makers were Henry Braithwaite, Operations Director, and Steve Cass, Head of Learning. I have always felt we have a world-class business school and now to be recognised for this is fantastic."
