Mega Moolah

After being triggered almost every month in 2017, the Mega Moolah jackpot prize has been won more sporadically over 2018. Since April 2018, the jackpot has been triggered just once, by a player from New Zealand, who earned their win New Zealand dollars, which meant that the British Pound balance reset to a relatively large amount following that win.

Since then, the jackpot has continued to grow throughout July and now through all of August so far to the point where the Mega Moolah jackpot prize has now grown to over £13 million. This means that should the next winner come from the UK, the jackpot will be the biggest British Pound jackpot prize in history!

The current British (and World) record holder for the Mega Moolah slot (and indeed for any online slot) is Jonathon Heywood, who won over £13.2 million when playing the Mega Moolah slot back in October 2015. Currently, the progressive jackpot has surpassed that of Mr Heywood's win!

Back in 2015, Mr Heywood’s win set a new World Record (confirmed by Guinness) for the largest ever online slot jackpot win. Mr Heywood’s prize fund back then equated to over €17,880,990.

However, the new jackpot may not set a new world record because, chiefly due to the depreciating value of the Pound. Back when Mr Heywood won his jackpot, you could get €1.35 to £1, but now you only get €1.11 to £1.

This means that even if the next winner of the Mega Moolah jackpot hails from the UK and they win more than Mr Heywood did, their total win when valued in Euros is likely to be less than the current World Record amount. Indeed, it is only when the jackpot reaches around £16 million, that the current World Record amount will come under threat.

Of course, if the next winner does not land the jackpot from the UK, then their cash prize will be much less than the current record amount as those players are playing in various other currencies, all which are "weaker" than the Pound.

However, if the jackpot is not triggered in the next few weeks, then there is a prospect where the prize could perhaps increase to around the £16 million mark and then a potential new Guinness World Record win is a distinct possibility.

With many slot fans feeling that the Mega Moolah jackpot is set to be won sooner rather than later, the jackpot prize continues to climb, the only questions are where and when the lucky winner will be when they land which is likely to be the biggest jackpot prize since 2015.
