Research reported in the UK magazine MarketingWeek reveals that 91% of consumers are influenced in their buying decisions by the way a company treats its customers and communities. A study by the consultancy firm Goodbrand reports that brands which promote their ethical stance are more likely to attract affluent customers. Consumers classified as "highly ethical" consist of almost a fifth of the consumer population.
