The founder of one of the South West's leading performing arts companies has taken her unique brand into Gloucestershire.

Revolution Performing Arts (RPA) has taken over a Gloucestershire company and is now delivering classes to young people in the county. Fi Da Silva Adams, who lives in Wanborough, near Swindon already runs classes across the town and into Oxfordshire. Both Fi and her team of trained teachers are working with hundreds of children every week - even online during lockdown.

The ethos of this extraordinary company is that all children matter, there is no pressure on any child who attends, and no one is excluded from any activity that they want to take part in. Indeed, teachers will abandon planned lessons if a child comes up with a great idea that a class wants to explore.

She has now taken over the former Kaleidoscope Creative Workshops which took place every Saturday at Pineholt Community Centre, Bird Road, Gloucester.

These classes have been running successfully thanks to performing arts expert Marie Cartwright for several years with children aged four to 18 years attending from across Gloucester and Cheltenham.

"Marie made the decision last year to move on and one of my teachers thought this would be a perfect opportunity for RPA to expand into Gloucestershire. When I spoke to Marie, her ethos of encouraging every child to express their own unique creativity through drama, dance and song was aligned to our values. This was the right time to expand the business," Fi Da Silva Adams said.

The Gloucestershire class is being run by performing arts teacher Jade Carroll who lives in West Swindon and who recently created a dance video with her sister Jessi (also a dance teacher) on TikTok which went viral. The pair replicated the dance routine of the latest song by Harry Styles, formerly of One Direction.

Their video of them performing the routine in their back garden has had more than 1.3 million views.

Jade (28) said: "It's been wonderful to work with a new group of children and, even though we've only started to get to know each other, many have already signed up to our Zoom sessions. As a teacher though, I'm excited for the day when I can actually meet these children on their own patch and get to know them."

Jade, who has 13 years' experience of dance has worked with RPA for two years.

Revolution Performing Arts was founded in 2007 and the team has been running online sessions throughout all lockdowns. All teachers are DBS checked, trained in first aid and receive training in safeguarding protocols. RPA specialises in empowering young people to celebrate their individuality through the power of performing arts.
