Yummzy launched on Remembrance Sunday, 11 November 2018, at 9 Nevada Street in Greenwich, a spot recently known as 'Al Pancino deli' and previously part of the well-known 'The Spread Eagle'.
Yummzy’s founder states on their website:
“Having had strict dietary requirements from a young age and learning about nutrition, I have only been disappointed every time I heard of a sugar free ice-cream that was actually infested with fructose or honey or other forms of carbs that would become glucose in the body – just as sugar would! Even low carb, high protein drinks and balls came with serious lies. Real Low sugar ice-creams and deserts did exist, but were rare and overpriced – the taste was compromised but the craving and scarcity made them the most delicious option available! With diabetes and obesity becoming the fastest growing health threats, stress and lifestyle causing more people to develop intolerances and requiring special diets; it only seemed natural to come up with something that those with special dietary requirements or health conscious individuals (or freaks) like us can enjoy, without compromise and fits with the hectic city lifestyle. Yummzy!”
Yummzy promises to deliver healthy, yet delicious desserts and drinks that are transparent, genuine and accessible. Yummzy is rolling out a number of their guilt free recipes over the next few weeks and is encouraging customers to provide honest feedback on their favourites as these will stay long term.
Located moments away from the Greenwich Park, many locals will be happy to hear that Yummzy is also dog friendly and offers dog treats with any dog owner’s purchase.
The Yummziers also say that their seating area upstairs will have a range of board games for customers and books available for exchange and the space can also be used for meetings or small gatherings.
The café also accommodates catering requests for gatherings, gifts, birthdays, weddings and other events: “We are extremely excited to be a part of the Greenwich community and are looking forward to serving the public our sinfully guiltless Yummzies.”
The cafe is open from 8am until 7pm Monday to Friday, from 9am until 6pm on Saturday and from 10am until 7pm on Sundays.
