"We never thought we would get this far. It's been an incredible journey. We realised a dream by actually having a unique product to pass the stringent tests of getting to the [Dragons'] Den, let alone to have a business interesting enough to get an investor on board," said co-founders of CotiVision™ Julie Hawkins and Nancy Gries. The duo stepped out to face the Dragons on 22 April 2021 to sell themselves and their business idea to the forbidding multimillionaire investors Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Tej Lalvani and Sara Davies.
The entrepreneurs said after filming: "We are passionate about sharing our necklace reading glasses and chains with the world, inspiring men and women to be bold and celebrate their personalities.
"We are extremely proud to have developed this unique product and to have launched a global business.
"We had our sights set on Deborah Meaden and are thrilled to have secured an offer from her. We are loving every moment and can’t wait to see where we can go from here."
Notes for editors:
Created from the frustration and realisation that, whenever most needed, reading glasses are nowhere to be found, COTI VISION makes wearing reading glasses stylish, sophisticated and always at your fingertips.
Reading glasses are not usually a permanent feature and are continuously taken on and off. When out for an evening they are usually needed for reading a menu and seeing messages on your phone. The rest of the time they are usually hidden in a handbag or perched on top of the head.
So why not make them into a fashionable necklace? This way when not adorning the face they are conveniently hanging from the neck.
Of course, there is still a place for the traditional readers, but on a night out when looks matter, this result is far more stylish and sophisticated. The necklace can be detached from the frame and worn independently. Available in an array of colours, in powers: +1.00 to +2.50
