Monday December 11th 2017
Worried about the state of your relationship? Well, lock yourself away and turn off your phone because statistically speaking, today, December 11th, is the day of the year you're most likely to get your heart broken. This specific date has been identified by statisticians who monitored ‘break up’ Facebook posts and status’. They found that this date, just two weeks before Christmas is the most popular time to break away from the person who just doesn't do it for you anymore, and of course, save a little extra money around Christmas time - clever, yet brutal.
But fear not, Healthy ice cream brand, Oppo, are here to save the day. How I hear you ask? By planting giant heart shaped piñatas in 5 of London’s busiest locations, of course (The Tate, St Pauls, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge and the London Eye). Oppo are giving heartbroken Londoners the chance to take their frustration out on the piñatas, which each contain 100’s of free 500ml tub vouchers. That means, no more crying in to a tub of fat filled ice cream but instead, getting your not so naughty fix with Oppo - that ice cream brand promoting good temptation to the heartbroken on December 11th.
If you didn't already know Oppo is a healthy ice cream made with virgin coconut oil, stevia leaf & fresh milk. Oppo ice cream contains less calories per scoop than an apple and 60% less sugar & calories than regular ice cream. Health and indulgence have always been opposites, but Oppo have made it their mission to find a new way. So they've made a decadent ice cream, but without loads of sugar and calories. It’s proof that being healthy doesn’t mean eating a compromise.

Notes to Editors:
The idea for Oppo was born in Brazil when two brothers, Charlie and Harry, travelled 1,000km in Brazil by kite. During the trip the brothers ran out of food, so to fuel this unofficial world record, they lived off coconuts and wild super-fruits. This sparked a revelation: natural ingredients can make indulgent food guilt-free.
Oppo is made with fresh milk, virgin coconut oil and stevia leaf. Naturally sweet and creamy but with 60% less sugar and calories than regular ice cream. There are currently four flavours available: Madagascan Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Mint Choc Swirl (not available in Sainsbury’s), and new newest addition to the range Columbian Chocolate and Hazelnut.
In January 2015 Oppo was the fastest ever food/ drink startup to raise money through crowdfunding, closing with £300,000 and 197 individual investors. Two further crowd funding rounds have taken this total over £1m. Oppo was also named ‘Start-up of the Year’ by The Guardian, awarded ‘Most Innovative Product’, was a finalist in the World Food Innovation Awards for ‘Best New Business and Brand’ and in 2016 won a Great Taste Award. Oppo is available in over 2000 stores across the UK including Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Budgens, Whole Foods Market, Holland & Barrett and Ocado.
Here's our EU Authorised Health Claim: ‘Consumption of foods/drinks containing erythritol and steviol glycosides instead of sugar induces a lower blood glucose rise after their consumption compared to sugar-containing foods/drinks’.
