Reuters is extending its remit as an online news publisher by launching a website dedicated to football .

The new site will cover all major domestic leagues and cup tournaments, UEFA Champions League and UEFA cup matches.

The site will also cover the latest football news from the major leagues and cup tournaments in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia.

In addition to Reuters' own content, football news feeds from other publishers; web portals, the Pluck blog network and companies across the internet will be supplied via aggregated feeds.

The site will also feature a dedicated 'match centre' to provide squad and match listings, fixtures and tables, and in game information. Live commentary for all Premier League and Champions League games will also be included.

The 'team area' feature will deliver team news, listings, profiles, fixtures, tables and photographs.

"This site will bring together the reliable and authoritative reporting of Reuters specialist football correspondents and enable football fans to enjoy a wealth of information that should satisfy even the most avid supporters," said Paul Radford, sports editor, Reuters.
