Reuters' global editor for multimedia is to address Nottingham Trent University with a lecture on trust and integrity in the modern media.
Chris Cramer, former managing director of CNN International and BBC head of newsgathering, will give his speech, 'Trust and Integrity in the Modern Media – Has the Media Lost the Message?' as part of the institution's Distinguished Lecture Series, a release from the university said.
The lecture will discuss how new technology and the rise of citizen journalism has influenced the news media. Cramer will ask 'where opinion and spin fit with the notion of impartial journalism', according to the release. Cramer, who joined Reuters in September , was awarded the DuPont Award for his coverage of the 2004 Asian tsunami. Earlier in his career, as a BBC journalist, he was taken hostage during a siege on the Iranian embassy in 1980.
The lecture will take place on November 17 from 6pm at the university's Djanogly International Centre. To book a place email events.team@ntu.ac.uk .
