Reuters and Newscom - supplier of text and visual content to online publishers - have cemented a deal that could flood the web with thousands of broadcast quality news videos.

The deal will allow Newscom subscribers online access to over 13,000 broadcast quality news video through the Reuters Video Resource Center's searchable database. With over a hundred new videos being added daily.

The service will allow publishers access to broadcast video as full-resolution MPEG2 files and as Windows Media, Flash and Real Player for use on the internet.

"We've seen an ever-growing demand for video content from our clients," said Newscom managing director Bill Creighton, in a statement to the press.

"The addition of Reuters video deepens our commitment to offer our customers everything they need for their online publications and broadcast productions."

"Working with Newscom, we can provide easy access to news video to online publishers and broadcasters in North and South America," said Mitch Koppelman, Reuters vice president for broadcast services in the Americas.
