Challenges can arise for writers when working with editors, and likewise, editors can sometimes feel that collaborating with writers is a struggle.

This article by Vicki Kreuger of Poynter provides five tips for editors to help them work with writers, minus the frustration.

Kreuger notes that it helps to remember that the editor and writer have a mutual goal to serve the reader well. One of her tips is that editors must read the entire story before making changes or corrections to a writer's piece, as "some of the questions that pop up into your mind might be answered later in the piece.”
