When launching a new podcast, it can seem impossible to stand out in such a saturated market. However, audiograms are becoming an increasingly popular tool to attract a larger audience across any social media platform.
In an article for The Podcast Host, Lindsay Harris Friel breaks down the process for all podcasters, big and small. "You don't have to be a big media company to take advantage of audiograms," she reassures.
Audiograms are short audio files from your podcast that are converted into a video graphic with a visible waveform and sometimes a transcription of the dialogue. They are a teaser for your episode and act as "small flavourful tastes to tempt passers-by into committing to a whole meal". Posting these will encourage more people to tune in.
There are many web-based applications such as Headliner, and Podcast.co that are popular for those starting out. If you follow our podcasts, you may have seen these trailers popping up on your social feeds.
