Journalists can never have too many collections of digital tools that can simplify an existing approach to a project or that serve as inspiration for a story, especially if they can be used without much technical knowledge.

The team behind Hackastory, a hackathon that regularly brings together journalists, coders and designers in different countries to brainstorm and use technology to develop new projects, have launched an online resource with 75 of their favourite storytelling tools and apps.

DigitalStory.Tools features both paid-for and free resources, which can be searched by category, including audio, social media, VR and design, but also tools for brainstorming and prototyping.

If you find them useful, make sure you check out Newsroom.Tools too, a similar collection of tried-and-tested tools for digital journalists.
