Keeping up to date with what other journalists covering your beat are doing, as well as with potential leads, related research or just interesting reads can become overwhelming if you don't have a good system in place.

Having many tabs open at once tends to work, at least for a while, but you're likely to only realise which tabs you still need once you've closed the browser window and can no longer remember the websites you need to go to. This happens to us here at Journalism.co.uk embarrassingly often.

Thankfully, there are better ways of saving stories for later. Many tools attempt to make bookmarking more effective, and the helpful folk at IJNet took a look at some of them and recommended their favourites in this article.

Their list includes both social bookmarking recommendations and solutions for keeping track of saved links across different devices.
