With the increasing amount of data visualisation tools and platforms available to help journalists illustrate data in stories, it can be overwhelming to get to grips with each of them or understand which one could suit the topic and information better.

His tips include incorporating charts in stories to increase reader persuasion, choosing bar charts over bubble or pie charts when accuracy matters more and using spatial comparisons rather than temporal ones when presenting contrasting figures or information.
