Social media is not just a distribution platform for journalism, but a source for news stories and even a place to set up journalism projects like Reportedly.

As such, mastering the basics and knowing what works best on which platform is key.

Ron Nurwisah, social media editor at The Huffington Post Canada, ran a social media strategies session at the NASH 77 student journalism conference yesterday.
