There are few things more time-consuming and tedious than transcribing audio word for word. If you are just fetching a few quotes from a YouTube video, there is an easier and little-known way to do this than the manual method.
Here is a guide from the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, which tells you how to pull up a transcript from the closed captions. For longer videos, you can also search for words to make it easier to find what you are looking for.
Just be sure to double-check the accuracy of the transcript. It also only works for the desktop version of YouTube, not the app.
