Bookmark these two worksheets to shape your editorial project and figure out which tools can help you in the process
To help journalists identify the "few key building blocks" that will shape their editorial projects from "raw information to a strong and authentic story", the folks at Journalism Tools have developed two worksheets to be used in the storytelling process.
The two worksheets, the Storytelling Canvas and the Storytooling Canvas, can be downloaded for free as a .pdf or .pptx. The former prompts journalists with questions about the target audience, the format and the goals they have for a story before it is published, as well as when distributing it.
The latter aims to help them identify the best tools for a project by asking how much time an individual or a team has to develop the story, whether they have all the skills required to achieve their goals and which platform and device the audience will use to access it.
Make sure to also check out our list of questions crowdsourced from journalists and editors, which they recommend should be asked to ensure your project reaches its potential.
