Trinity Mirror has bought recruitment website The Career Engineer Limited.

The group has paid an initial £1.9 million for the jobs website, which specialises in the engineering industry, and will pay a further £400,000 for the online service if specific targets are met over the next 12 months.

According to Trinity, the site is expected to generate more than £500,000 in revenue in its first year.

"Career Engineer is a great fit for our digital recruitment portfolio bringing new revenues and further building our position in this growing market," said Sly Bailey, Trinity Mirror CEO, in a press statement from the company.
