It seems that summer has finally limped here, so what better way to spend a sunny afternoon than sitting in the dark staring at a glowing screen and taking in these few YouTube pieces.

First of which has various talking heads waxing lyrical about the rise of the amateur and the death of the newspaper.

NB: the piece was posted last summer and I think I may have even linked to it then. Oh well, a rerun can't hurt.

This video is a little more gregarious than the usual

talking-heads-show-you-what's-in-the-paper

pieces the Mirror seems keen on producing.

However, it has set up a YouTube channel on which to promote its home grown content and it does seem to produce vids regularly.

Here's a little sunny powder puff to finish on. Todd Wallace and Trisha Shepard talk 'Why Journalism?' explaining what other than the kudos; high-pay, favourable hours and working in a stress-free environment drew them to careers in journalism.

The pair are the new anchors for US station 6News and seemed to have been press ganged into this schmoozefest to ingratiate them to their new audience.
