The Washington Post has named assistant managing editor, Liz Spayd, as editor-in-chief of the washingtonpost.com. According to the Post , the newspaper's two top editors, Leonard Downie Jr and Philip Bennett, called the appointment "a giant leap towards reaching the long-term goals of Washington Post journalism in print and online".
