The Periodical Publishers’ Association has announced building.co.uk and whatcar.com as the winners of its two online categories in this year's PPA magazines 2007 awards for editorial and publishing excellence.
Building.co.uk was praised by the judges for its good cross-platform between its online and offline associated magazines, winning it the interactive/online business and professional magazine of the year title.
Whatcar.com, which went away with the interactive/online consumer magazine of the year title, beat high-flying nominees such as Topgear.com , fhm.co.uk and cnet.co.uk .
Steve Fowler, What Car? group editor, commenting on its award, said: "We are honoured and delighted to receive such a high-profile award ahead of so many websites we recognise as being excellent in their field.
"All this comes at a time when we're working hard to develop whatcar.com into an even better resource for car buyers and owners - the fruits of which will be revealed later this year."
