Tom Watson, the Labour MP at the centre of the campaign against tabloid phone hacking, is to publish a book on News Corporation and the News of the World phone hacking story later this week.
Dial M for Murdoch is jointly written by Watson and Independent journalist Martin Hickman, and comes with the strapline: "News Corporation and the corruption of Britain".
More details about the book's contents are expected to be revealed later today. Watson wrote on his blog : "Very excited to say we've finally finished the book. It's out this Thursday. I have a hunch it will be one of the most attacked books this year."
The book's publication comes ahead of a long-awaited official report by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee – of which Watson is a member – into phone hacking at the News of the World .
The attorney general, Dominic Grieve, is briefing the committee today on how its report can avoid prejudicing any eventual trial relating to hacking.
