We can officially say that we have an award-winning newsletter. That's a weird sentence to write.

JournalismUK bagged the Best B2B Newsletter Award at the Publisher Newsletter Awards today (8 July 2026). This award has eluded us a few times over the years - we've gone in for it a couple of times prior and been rightfully bested by more deserving publishers.

But this was all before 2025, when our managing director, Marcela Kunova, acquired the company, and ever since, she's led us through rapid transformation: rebranding to JournalismUK, replatforming the website, redefining our user needs strategy and remodelling our products. She'll tell you it's a team effort – and it certainly is – but nobody has sacrificed more for this moment.

This is the first time we've entered these awards as JournalismUK, new and improved, and we're mighty proud to have fended off competition from no less than two Financial Times newsletters, respected names like Coindesk and MIT Technology Review, and our fellow indie publishers Media Stack and What's New In Publishing. At the same time, we recognise that they are all awesome, and we root for them.

I am personally grateful to every single community member who signed up, reads our work and believes in our mission to inspire and empower every single journalist. We won this award thanks to you.

But this is no time to get complacent.

The award is nice, and it's proof that something is clicking. But we at JournalismUK find ourselves at a critical point. The industry is in a tough spot and we need your support more than ever to keep going. And here's how you can help:

  • Become a free member and join our mailing list to see what all the fuss is about and stay updated with our work.
  • Support our newly crowned, award-winning newsletter. Get your brand in front of our engaged and growing user base. Contact Marcela for more details.
  • Check out our brand new jobs board – Ophelia's masterpiece - and if you're hiring, consider placing an ad. It directly supports our work, improves the product, and we have a limited-time welcome offer (code WELCOME30 for 30% off).
  • Fill out our audience survey, running until the end of the month. We must keep improving. We are making some important decisions about how to sustain our journalism, and we want to make sure we're making the right choices for those who care most about our work.
