The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) has appointed Tom Cain to the newly created role of head of research and insight.
Cain was previously head of research and business development at EMAP's consumer magazine division and has 15 years of experience in the research field, a release from the group said.
In his new role he will lead the association's research activities, including its annual membership survey, and help produce regular industry analysis.
Last year AOP named Telegraph Media Group's Alison Reay and the Economist's Mike Steery as co-chairs under a new shared arrangement.
