Entries to the Paul Foot Award, established in memory of campaigning and investigative journalist Paul Foot, must be submitted by September 1.

Standalone articles or campaigns produced by individuals, teams of journalists or entire publications and published between September 1 2007 and August 2008 are eligible for the award, which honours campaigning journalists in the UK.

An overall prize of £5,000, and £1,000 each for five runners-up will be awarded at a ceremony in London on November 3.

This year's judging panel are: Brian McArthur as chair, Private Eye's Ian Hislop, Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, National Union of Journalists' General Secretary Jeremy Dear, The Oldie's Richard Ingrams, Bill Hargerty from the British Journalism Review, and Clare Fermont.
