Channel 4’s 4Talent is calling for entries to its second annual media awards.

A special journalism award has been added to this year's accolades, as well as a ‘wildcard’ prize to cater for applicants whose work does not fit into any one category.

The journalism prize will be judged by Dorothy Byrne, head of news and current affairs at Channel 4, and Samih Shah, chief executive of Juniper TV.

As well as encouraging young talent - entries are accepted from those under the age of 30 - the awards provide Channel 4 with a significant opportunity to spot emerging media stars, a press release from the broadcaster said.

Entries will be accepted until 5pm on August 29 and more information can be found on the 4Talent website .
