Daily Mail named London Press Club newspaper of the year
Mail beats Guardian and Times to daily newspaper award, while Sunday Times is named best Sunday title

The Daily Mail has been crowned daily newspaper of the year at this year's London Press Club awards , beating the Guardian and the Times to the top prize at last night's ceremony in London.
The Sunday Times was named Sunday newspaper of the year, in a category where the Independent on Sunday and Mail on Sunday were also shortlisted.
The Guardian's phone hacking coverage lost out to the BBC's Panorama in the scoop of the year award. The Panorama episode documented abuse at a care home and also won at the Broadcasting Press Guild awards in March.
Sky News celebrated two wins, with Mark Kleinman named business journalist of the year and Alex Crawford broadcast journalist of the year.
The Telegraph's Ian Cowie picked up the award for consumer journalist of the year. The full list of winners can be found on the London Press Club website.
