The Daily Record has relaunched its website to enable it to interact better with the readership.

The revamp of the Scottish site will see an increase in user-generated content and more multimedia offerings including video and audio clips.

The Trinity Mirror-owned publication will focus on creating more unique content for its online offering and introduce keyword tagging.

Visitors will be able to submit stories, photos, video and audio to the site, which will now also allow users to comment on and rate key articles.

New blogs and improved forums are aimed at increasing interaction, while users will be able to track news through RSS feeds and the introduction of social bookmarking tools.

"The revamp enables us to deliver an even better service to our online audience. It allows us to interact with our readers in a new and exciting way," said Bruce Waddell, editor of the Daily Record.

"Our videos, podcasts and forums are already proving hugely popular. This is just the beginning of a new phase in the history of the Daily Record."
