Entry to the Grantham Prize, a $75,000 award for environmental reporting, is now open to entries from journalists covering environment and/or natural resources topics.

The prize is open to English-language reports published in the United States or Canada in 2008, according to a press release .

Reports produced in print, broadcast, online or for books are eligible for the prize.

The deadline for print broadcast and online submissions is February 2, but entries under the books category must be postmarked before January 12, 2009.

The prize, which is organised by the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, aims to reward 'outstanding independent journalism', which gives current environmental reporting 'the honour, respect, and visibility it needs'.
