The Evening Standard has launched a news website to partner the entertainment-focused ThisIsLondon.co.uk. Standard.co.uk features news from London and columnists, in addition to blogs from the paper’s journalists, a City podcast and email business bulletins.

Online news polls and debates, as well as updates from the paper’s campaigns, are a key component of the new-look site. Users can navigate between the entertainment and news sites by using tabs at the top of the homepage.

The ThisIsLondon portal, which The Evening Standard shared with fellow Associated Newspapers' publication London Lite, stopped carrying breaking news in July 2005.
