Entry to the 13th annual Webby Awards will close on Friday (December 19).

The awards - open to news organisations, newspapers and magazines - recognise the best websites, online advertising campaigns, mobile developments and online film and video of the year.

This year, National Geographic Magazine Online won the magazine Webby , while NYTimes.com scooped the newspaper and news prize .

Awards are also made for best copy/writing (won by Wired.com in 2008); best use of photography; best business blogs; and best political blogs.

Entry fees for the awards range from $150(£100) to $495 (£330) and submission forms can be completed at the Webbys' site .

The winners will be announced in April 2009.
