Future has appointed Simon Maxwell to the new role of group publisher across its print and online film publications.
In an internal promotion, Maxwell moves from the position of publisher, where he was responsible for the Total Film, DVD Review and SFX teams, to the newly created position.
He will now take charge of Future's entire film portfolio, which also includes Sky Movies magazine and Odeon magazine.
"With a wealth of film industry experience, Simon has led our titles through incredibly tough market conditions, delivering great results against an increasingly competitive backdrop," said Simon Wear, Future's chief operating officer.
"Working across both our news stand and customer publishing titles, Simon's leadership will allow us to grow the portfolio further. With 4.5m homes reading a Future film title, we aim to cement our position as the UK's first for film."
As part of plans to extend its range of film publications, Future is also seeking an associate publisher in this area.
