An inquest into the death of an Associated Press correspondent in a plane crash in Cameroon five years ago will open today in Lincoln.
Anthony Mitchell was among 114 people killed when Kenya Airways flight 507 crashed into a swamp in rain and thick fog on 5 May 2007, shortly after taking off from Douala.
He was on assignment investigating the criminal trade in endangered species in the Central African Republic and was returning home to Nairobi, where he lived with his wife and two children.
His wife, Catherine, wrote on the Associated Press wall of honour : "He lived life to the full and died doing the job he loved."
The inquest is expected to last two days at Lincoln coroner's court.
